24" Bronze Sculpture 2007
Southern Utah experienced devastating floods in 2005 following dramatic and unexpected weather. Not only were many homes lost, the property beneath them was also lost. Into this destruction came the community volunteers. Troops of youth, neighbors, and civic and religious leaders organized to save a life-time of belongings and memories. There were many fund raising activities; one was a book published with stories and photographs of the crisis. Based on a photograph of one of the teenage volunteers, "Sandman" represents that generous spirit of service.
Pictured is 6 foot monument. Also available also in 24" maquette
